After searching for years I finally found a scrap CBX head with a partial set of lightened valve spring retainers that I'm now having reproduced. The original stock retainers weigh 7.6 grams each, the new retainers weigh 4.3 grams each, this lowers the recopicating weight of the valve train by a total of 79.2 grams. The retainers are made of an aerospace / military spec alluminum alloy then heat treated after production. These retainers may be used with stock or heavy duty valve springs and they accept the stock keepers.
I am sending over with Louis (usedcbxparts) 5 sets, although 2 have already been sold, there will be 3 sets available at $250.00 (USD) per set. There are another 10 sets in production at this time that will be the same price if ordered during the rally. Both Louis and Carl Woodcock will have a sample of the retainers with them during the rally for show and tell if anyone is interested.
Also in process at this time, reproduction of Ontario Moto Tech cams, after testing we will also be offering them.

The ‘BEAST’ is a racing CBX which was ridden into 2nd place in Australia’s Historic Championship
To help finance the running of ‘The Beast’, which needs an engine rebuild, we have for sale a DVD of onboard race footage, commentary as well as still images.
It runs for over an hour and is a must for all speed freaks who would love to see a CBX doing things it should not be capable of.
